The September 2017 Area 5 BBQ was a success! Not only did we raise more than our target amount of funds to support ‘Bridges to Prosperity,” we ALSO were able to build and deliver 100 “Blessing Bags” to Iris House in Harlem as well as toiletries to Women in Need in NYC.
Dropping off these toiletries, individualized messages of hope, and packaged items to distribute to those in need in our communities… feels really good!
Iris House Executive Director, Ingrid Floyd, writes in her letter of acknowledgement, “These blessing bags were a big hit with our clients and community members. Many of the community members reside at local shelters near Iris House. These toiletries were essential to their daily care.”
