Food for the Soul 2017

Food for the Soul – Harlem Food Pantry Project

On November 4, 2017, 135 volunteers from all over NYC came together at the Salvation Army Temple Corps in Harlem and packed 17,000 meals to help feed our community!

Rotary Club of Harlem partnered with “The Outreach Program” to make an impact in our community. The Outreach Program is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation that organizes food packaging events around the country. With more than 330 million meals packaged to date, the organization’s mission is to provide safe water, food, medical care, and education to those in need, at home and abroad.

The Rotary Club of Harlem distributed 15,000 of these meals to the following local food pantries for distribution to those in need in our community:

  • Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps
  • The PILLARS
  • Iris House
  • Kings Tower Community Center
  • St. Charles Borromeo Church
  • Fraternite Notre Dame
  • City Tabarnacle Church

2000 meals will be sent out to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands!

Coordinated and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Harlem, this event will directly impact our local community. We are especially grateful to our charity partner, the Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps, for providing space for this event. In addition, this event would also not be possible without the volunteered service from these other local businesses and non-profit organizations:

THANK YOU!
